The Charles “Chuck” R. Akin Award of Excellence is the highest accolade for a Coates Field Service, Inc. employee to receive. The Akin Award recognizes accomplished right of way professionals who have excelled in their work, served as outstanding representatives of Coates, and provided exceptional services to the company’s clients. 

This award was established in 1997 in honor of Mr. Chuck Akin, who was actively employed with Coates from 1957 to 1997. Mr. Akin, the consummate right of way professional, served in virtually every capacity: Right of Way Agent, Project Manager, Personnel Director, Division Vice President and Senior Vice President.

Chuck exemplified the values Coates seeks in its employees - honesty, determination, grit and a passion for client and landowner service. It is an honor to dedicate this award in his memory each year.
